a top destination for downhill skiing
in British Columbia, Canada. The close proximity of the
ski hills makes the Okanagan Valley an ideal skiing destination
because there is an option of skiing different snow mountains,
if one decides. The mild climates and the Okanagan Valley,
B.C. landscapes create the right conditions for excellent
snow and alpine weather conditions.
The
Okanagan Valley area
of British Columbia is one of the key areas of BC for downhill
skiing. The communities of Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton and
Osoyoos are nearby communities to some of the more popular
ski hills. Apex
Ski Mountain is near Penticton.
Big
White and Crystal
Mountain are located near Kelowna.
Silver
Star is kitty corner to Vernon. Mount
Baldy downhill skiing is found outside the community
of Osoyoos,
BC, Canada.
The
Okanagan Valley British
Columbia ski hills are mainly designed for
all levels of skiers to enjoy. Black ski runs are mainly
designed for the expert skier with big drops and plenty
of opportunity for speed and air time. At the other end
of the spectrum are the green downhill ski runs designed
for beginners with gradual ski slopes and room to wipe out
with extra room for a safe recovery.
Plan
accordingly as accommodations on the ski mountains is limited.
Down low in the neighbouring communities, at the foot of
these ski hills, are plenty of different style of accommodations
to select from but involve a commute.
