| Peachland,
British Columbia is a small community
located on the shores of Okanagan Lake in the Central Okanagan
Valley region.
vibrant
waterfront village with a popular, beautiful lake front pathway
lining the shores of the great Okanagan Lake. The community is
a front row seat to an abundance of lake activities and sandy
beaches.
Peachland is central in the Okanagan Valley with
quick access to the neighboring larger communities - Westbank
and Kelowna. Peachland is a small retreat community with an assortment
of unique retail stores fronting the lake. A grocery store, some
outdoor patio coffee shops and some restaurants, pubs, banks and
ATMs are also found in the village mall and on the lake streets.
Only a short 10 minute drive further north is
the community of Westbank and 20 minutes is Kelowna where there
are many more stores, restaurants, amenities and entertainment
venues available to discover.
The community of Peachland stretches for over
8 kms long with most of that distance following the sandy beaches
shouldering the clear waters of Okanagan Lake. Most days are spent
by many visiting the village playing on the water and/or relaxing
on the beach.
Okanagan Lake is a popular destination for water
skiing, swimming, jet skiing, canoeing, sailing, fishing, houseboating
and kayaking. Other activities in the area that are popular include
a game of golf on one of the areas well-maintained challenging
golf courses; horseback riding exploring the desert like hills;
bird watching at Trepanier Creek Linear Park. Winter brings snowmobiling,
alpine skiing, snow boarding, and cross country skiing to the
Okanagan Valley and all it's communities.
The region is home to BC's Wine Industry also.
The Okanagan Valley is where the BC Wine Industry started. So,
there are many wineries and orchards to visit. Take a Peachland
wine tour at one of the internationally recognized wineries and
vineyards of the area.
In Peachland the outdoor explorer can venture
the Kettle Valley Trail (KVR) from one of the access points nearby,
hike a trail to the the top of Pincushion Mountain or enjoy the
spectacular views venturing out onto Rattlesnake Island for a
camp out or stroll along the shaded footpath to the therapeutic
views of Hardy Falls. |
